Robert A. Miller is a preacher and author who serves as the minister at Tenth Street Church of Christ in Opelika, Alabama. He holds a Master of Divinity and has served congregations in Arizona, Texas, and Colorado. In the pulpit, Robert likes to slow down and draw attention to details in Scripture that are easy to miss. He uses personal stories and humor to help people see where a passage touches their own lives. He wants the person who’s prayed for help and is still waiting to hear what Scripture has to say to them. The same goes for someone battling addiction, carrying guilt or shame over a failure, or wondering if there’s a place for them in the church.
Robert spent twelve and a half years as a medic in the United States Air Force, serving in the U.S., Germany, England, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan. He’s also served as a hospice chaplain, a fire department chaplain, and a Celebrate Recovery minister. His mission work has taken him to Africa, India, Myanmar, and Romania. Those experiences have shaped the way he talks about faith, especially with someone who’s hurting. When he preaches about facing the unknown, he might take listeners back to the moment he stepped off a plane in Afghanistan. When he talks about disappointment, he remembers losing a state championship and hearing his mother’s voice after the game.
Robert founded Unapologetic Faith and is the author of Wells With No Water and the 4×4 Men’s Bible Study. In Wells With No Water, he draws on Scripture and experiences from his own life, including a hot hike near Moab, Utah, to explore why we keep going back to things that leave us thirsty and what it means to trust Jesus for living water. He wrote the 4×4 Men’s Bible Study to give men a reason to sit down together, open their Bibles, and talk honestly about how they’re living out their faith at home, at work, and in the church.
Some of Robert’s favorite opportunities to teach come around the dinner table or out by the backyard fire pit. He and his wife, Ann, often welcome college students and young adults into their home for a meal, a Bible study, and usually a game or two. Ann is also an Air Force veteran, and they have three children, Alina, Avery, and Alex. Away from the pulpit, Robert enjoys hiking with his family, talking baseball, and taking his time over a good cup of coffee.

Men's Ministry“I met Robert Miller after the shooting in Uvalde,TX. I had been preaching at a church there and took a week off to go snd be there if anyone needed to talk. The day after in walks Robert Miller; he had driven almost a hundred miles without being asked because he knew people would need help. Often we wonder about the character of people in the church. Robert showed his by showing up in a town he knew nobody because he knew they needed help.”
